The live music and poetry event Seh Sup’m is getting ready to make a return to the entertainment scene. Produced by Root Cause, the monthly series will be relaunched at its new home, Red Bones the Blues Cafe, Argyle Road, Kingston on May 4, 2013.

Seh Sup’m has enlisted to the talents of Ann Margaret Lim, Dr. Michael Abrahams, Mel Cooke and Kabaka Pyramid to secure an diverse first night which has been dubbed ‘The Return’.

Ann-Margaret Lim’s first collection of poetry, The Festival of Wild Orchid, published by Peepal Tree Press recently received a honourable mention for the 2013 Bocas Literary Prize.

Abrahams is a poet, comedian and social commentator while Cooke recently launched his second collection of poems, aptly title Seh Sup’m: Mel Cooke Live From Kingston. His first collection 11/9 was produced by Blue Moon Publishing in 2008. Kabaka Pyramid is among the rising cadre of Reggae musicians steering the re-emergence of roots Reggae.

The show takes its name from its foregrounding of the spoken word and retains the format where the unknown also get a chance at the microphone with the return of the open mic segment. The show will also feature world beat music spun by DJ Iset.

Seh Sup’m begins at 7:00 with music and the performances commence at 7:30 pm.
